When starting, owning, or working for a business the first thing that comes to mind when determining what matters is your customers. Without customers every business that I can think of would go bankrupt, minus some Government programs, but that’s a whole other topic.
In this Digital Age there are literally thousands of web sites and other avenues to promote your business or brand in ways to recruit, acquire or engage customers. New businesses are especially concerned with finding ways to promote their new ventures, as no new customers equals no growth to help the business sustain itself.
In a quest to help my own business, as well as work to help other businesses I have setup a group on LinkedIN for Kokomo Business Owners. For those that don’t know, LinkedIN is a free networking site for business professionals. It could be considered a professional Facebook, without all the pictures, drama, etc. LinkedIN is a great site to network with many fellow business owners, employees, and potential employees. My personal opinion is that not enough people seriously consider LinkedIN when deciding what needs their business has in regards to their online presence.
My hope is that our group on LinkedIN can bring Kokomo Business Owners together in a professional spot online to engage in referrals, business to business transactions, and also learn about area businesses. Promoting and working with your fellow area businesses can be truly rewarding not only in regards to income, but also goodwill and relationships with other businesses.
